Suspending Account

I've decided to suspend my Etsy account and remove the paypal information on here until after I get all of my orders done. I'm working hard to complete all of the orders and I am continuing to get more so I have to stop until I get it all done so I know everything will be mailed out. I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks for everyone's support and orders, I'll let you know when I re-open.

'Upset Fowl' (a.k.a. Angry Birds)

Introducing my 'Upset Fowl' line!  I know they look like the Angry Birds but those are copywrited so I can't make Angry Birds, just so you know ;)  Below are the 'Bomber' and 'Red' fowl.  I have all of the hats in this line already listed to the right so if you would like one of those that aren't pictured yet, please feel free.  All can have earflaps added and can be made in any size.  I can change colors upon request, the only reason I can think that would be needed is if you are ordering two of the same for your kids and want to tell them apart but please feel free to request what you would like.  Email me with any questions.  Enjoy!

Headband Earwarmer

I've wanted to make one of these for a while now.  I love these earwarmers and think they are so cute!  I walk my son to school now since we are just across the street and we have the BEST crosswalk helper.  She brings treats sometimes and is so friendly and knows a lot of the kids names.  I wanted to get her a Christmas present but give it to her now so she can use it as it's getting cold so I made her an earwarmer.  I like the solid one color ones but I'm a big fan of color and contrast so she got a grey and black flower.  You can order yours with up to 4 colors if you wanted, but I suggest just one or two.  It is made with 100% acrylic yarn but you can request cotton if you want.  Let me know in the notes when you checkout which colors you want.  The size stretches from 20 - 24 inches, it has two buttons and is almost 4 inches thick.  If a different size is needed, please say so in the comments as well.  Please email me if you have questions.

FrAnKeNsTeIn!

My sister in law just had a baby boy last week.  With Halloween being just around the corner I thought I'd make her a special Halloween hat incase she didn't want to buy him a full costume.  This will at least keep his head/ears warm and can really be warn during the winter and not just for Halloween.  I can make this hat in any size, I can change any of the colors and make the bride as well or just girly up this one if wanted.  It is listed under the 'Animals-Fancy' drop down.

Mario Mouse

I made this hat for a special little boy.  I love the colors!  If you want a girl version I can do little buttons or circles all over in the yellow or white and I can change the red to a pink as well if you would like.  This is named 'Mario' so no one gets this confused with 'Mickey'.  I don't want to get sued or anything ;)  Just let me know when checking out in the comments what colors and all that there.

Football Photo Prop

I was lucky enough to test the pattern for this and am able to sell this in my shop now.  I wish I had some better pictures so once I get a model I can get some better photos for you.  At least you get the idea.  This comes with the hat and the cape for all of you football fans.  I can change the colors or even add your team logo on the football.  For girls you can add a bow or flower or something too and it turns out super cute!  These are made in one size and usually fit newborn - 6 months.

Cowl - Slender and Chunky

This cowl was made specifically for someone I knew that wanted one.  I've had such a positive response so I've decided to add it to my blog.  The cowl shown in blue and tan (on the monkey and turtle) are the slender version and the purple is the chunky version.  The slender is made with 100% cotton and has one large button as an extra designer touch.  Can be made in most colors and comes in one size.  If you would like one for a child, please put in the comments when checking out and I can adjust to fit.  The chunky cowl is, well, thicker/chunkier (you can see the thickness difference below).  The yarn is acrylic and comes in most colors as well.  Please put color you wish in comments when checking out and you can find this in the 'Misc Items' section.  You can also put what color button you would like or if you want a specialty button, please list as well and I'll do my best finding one for you (i.e. monster, football, flower, monkey, etc.)

Matching Owl

I found this great pattern to make character ear warmers so I just HAD to try them out!  I made this one for my daughter, it's an owl ear warmer.  I'm going to make my son a Yoda one once I find the right color of green (my husband is a little picky on the color for it).  I LOVE THESE!  I think they are fun to add just a little touch if you don't want to wear a hat but you want something more than just an ear warmer for your kids (or yourself, even one to match your kids hat maybe).  Anyway, I can make a plain ear warmer and you can add a flower or get a fancy ear warmer, whatever you would like.  Just let me know more in the comments when checking out.

And I had to show you this hat.  I got my daughter a bed set for Christmas and then her grandma got her this pillow to match the bed set for her birthday so I had to make her a matching hat.  She loves it and I think it turned out great!  Do you have a stuffed animal that you want a matching hat for?  Send me a picture to my email and I'll let you know a price estimate.

Owl Beanies without the flaps

Want to know what the owl hat would look like without the earflaps?  Well, your wait is over!  Below are two of them.  I can't decide which eyes I like better, I LOVE the big eyes on these hats but I've had one or two tell me they like the smaller ones better.  Let me know what you like in the comments below.

Tiny Texture

I love all of the newsboy style hats, I just can't decide which I like best to be honest.  This one I made up for a little boy.  You still have the option of switching out the strap if you would like, I liked it in the same color.  You can match your favorite shoe and make a great baby gift for either a boy or a girl.  If you would rather have one button instead of two and have a flower, please let me know in the comments while checking out.  Hat can be made in any size, even for mom (you can match!) and any color.  Another option, instead of doing a strap or flower is to add a character button.  I was debating doing that with this one.  I think the monster buttons work great with this hat!

Dogs can be kids too

So my same amazing neighbor came to me the other day.  Her boss was having a dog shower since she didn't have kids and she wanted me to make her some doggy booties.  While looking around at ideas I found a collar that I thought was fun.  I think boots can be too messy if they go outside in them so I asked if a collar would be okay.  Anyway, she loved the idea and this is what I came up with.  It has 'spikes' and a skull in the center.  I hope her boss likes it!  This can also be made as a choker for people if you would like.  If you have anything else 'custom' that you want to ask me about, please email me at yarnandstring@hotmail.com

Boys and Shoes...

I decided to make all of the boy shoes so you can see them all side-by-side.  I made them all in the brown and yellow to go with the giraffe hat.  I don't have any of the sandals listed below but all of the other shoes are listed.  I will be creating a 'high-top' shoe in the future, I think that should do it for boy shoes but at least you can see the options.  I'm hoping to do this for the girls as well before the end of the year.  Anyway, from left I have the ankle boot, top middle is the crocs, right is  the loafer with one button and bottom middle is the loafer.  I only have one loafer option  listed to purchase but just list in the comments at checkout if you would like the one button instead.

Tiger

Remember the neighbor who asked for the black cat?  Well, her other daughter wanted a tiger after seeing the cat.  She also wanted the fur on the inner ear.  I just finished it, the mom LOVES it so I'm hoping her daughter feels the same.  I had fun with this one!  Comes in any size, you can have any color and without the ears if you want.  I'm going to make a zebra hat as well and you can order this hat under the zebra, just list in the comments in the order that you want the tiger instead of the zebra.

Black Cat

So one day I was next door delivering an order to my neighbor and her daughter was over.  She saw what I had made and asked for a simple black cat hat.  I have a really hard time with simple so I added an extra touch, FUR!  She LOVED it!!!  Before I gave it to her I was able to get my daughter to model it for me.  Isn't she the CUTEST!?!?!?!  Hat comes in any size, any color, you know the drill...

Cloche

This hat is super cute! The size starts at 3 yrs old so it's a little big on my Julie but you can get the idea with her wearing it.  You can add a flower or a bow or whatever you would like to this hat!  There is a bumpy texture to it, I think it adds something extra.  You can also change up the color to just about anything!

Hat design by Speckled Frog by speckledfrogcrochet  www.speckledfrogcrochet.etsy.com

Giraffe

I think I have to make this hat in Julie's size.  I just LOVE the mustard color with the brown.  I also think a pink giraffe would be cute, you can change up the colors all you want, add more spots, take them off, add eyes instead, whatever!  Such a fun little hat, again, more animals :)  If you have a large family you could easily do a zoo themed winter!  I still have more to come, might take a few days though since I haven't started them yet ;)

Bear Beanie

I'm loving all the animal beanies!  This beanie has a bumpy texture to it.  I can make it with our without the ears, with or without the ear flaps, and with or without the flower.  It can be made in any size, any color, just about anything.  Perfect for boys or girls.

Elephant or Mouse?

This hat also needs a model.  Can be made in any color, the picture is grey with pink inner ear.  I can also make the ears smaller to be a mouse, the one pictured is an elephant ear.

Long Tail

As soon as I can get someone to model this I will, SO much cuter on a baby than on a table.  This is a stripped long tail beanie with a pom pom on the end.  This hat is perfect for babies!  Can be done in stripes or solid.  You can also do multiple colors, not just one or two but please try to keep it under 5.

Beanie

This beanie can be made in any color/size combination and can have earflaps added.  You can also go with or without the pom pom on the top.  You can't really tell in the pictures but the hat below is a blue base with orange and grey accents.  You can fold down the beanie to cover more of the face or leave it folded up.  Perfect for skiing or just playing out in the cold for any boy/girl young/old.

Facial Scrubbies

These facial scrubbies are perfect for washing off make-up, washing your face in the shower, etc.  They are 100% cotton and can be thrown in the wash.  Comes in any color, set of 8.  The sets below have a white/pink/purple/aqua/cream mixture so I added those other colors as accents but can be sold with just one solid color if you would like.
